Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading, installing, or using DA Activity Tracker (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Independence from political parties

DA Activity Tracker is an independent tool. It is not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by the Democratic Alliance or any other political party. The "DA" in the name refers to the subject matter of the App's intended use, not to ownership or endorsement.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the App.

4. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your sign-in credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App to:

  • Falsify, fabricate, or misrepresent activities or attendance.
  • Capture photos or location data of any person without their consent.
  • Violate any applicable laws, including but not limited to POPIA, the Electoral Act, or copyright law.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the App.
  • Use the App to harass, defame, or harm any person or organisation.

6. Your content

The photos, descriptions, and location data you create using the App belong to you. We do not claim any ownership of your content. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to capture and store any content you create.

7. Service availability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that the App will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free at all times. Most of the App's functionality (logging activities, taking photos, generating PDF reports) works offline and does not depend on our servers. Sign-in features require an internet connection and depend on third-party authentication services.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by South African law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill.

You are responsible for backing up your activity data. We recommend regularly using the PDF export feature to keep external copies of your proof documents.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time (Settings → Delete Account inside the App). We may suspend or terminate access to the App in cases of misuse, illegal activity, or breach of these Terms.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of South African courts.
